Fran is touring with The Hooters in Europe!​


Fran Smith Jr’s early career highlights include performing with The Shakes at the Stone Pony with Vinnie Lopez, Bruce Springsteen’s ex-drummer, also Cats on a Smooth Surface previous to Patty Scialfa joining the band with Bobby Bandiera from Jon Bon Jovi, then was signed to John Denver’s label on RCA records with Johnny’s Dance Band. Other performance highlights include his 9-year tenure as an actor in Tony and Tina’s wedding, and also as McCartney in Beatlemania NOW.

Fran took over Bass duties for The Hooters in the 80s and has recorded with MCA, Columbia Records, has performed at The Wall with Roger Waters, on England’s Top of The Pops with George Harrison and continues to perform and record with The Hooters internationally.  

Mystic County is Fran’s third solo release. His first solo effort was released on Moskeeto Records “For No Apparent Reason” with Jack Sherman from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kieth Mack from Cyndi Lauper, and David Uosikkinen from The Hooters. His second CD “Man Meets Machine” features Glen Burtnik from Styx,  Rob Hyman, Eric Bazilian (The Hooters), and Steve Butler (Smash Palace).
