"Ahms"  : This is the Cadillac of all disrespectful phrases. Don't be fooled by the spelling, the M is silent, like this phrase should be!  This one I tormented my parents with  on a regular basis.  Enough so, that they banned me from ever saying it in their house.  Then on this particular day, when they heard me say it,  instead of punishing me, they said "We hope one day that your children say the ahms  thing to you" ... And now that is all I hear from my kids... and I can't get them to stop.
